Non-Immigrant Visas

H2B Visas

Special Instructions for H2B applicants

To apply for individual or group appointments for H2B and H2R visa applicants, the employer or authorized agent must send an inquiry email to the U.S. Consulate Hermosillo H2B team at H2BMEX@csc.com. One of our team members will respond within two working days with information on how to obtain an appointment.

(The process will involve several steps, including scanning the original I-797 petition and emailing appropriate contact information to our team in order that we may process the appointment and schedule the applicants in a timely manner.)

See below for additional information on the required documentation that applicants or their representatives must bring to the Consulate.

The day before the appointment we need the group representative to provide us with the following paperwork for each applicant:

  • Current passport.

  • Proof of payment of the application fee. This fee is the equivalent of 100 U.S. dlls. and has to be paid IN PESOS at the BANAMEX Bank once an appointment has been made.

  • The original DS-156 filled out on the computer, with a color picture of the applicant glued on it. The picture must fulfill the following requirements:
    1. Printed on a white background without borders. Colored or patterned backgrounds are unacceptable.

    2. Taken within the last six months.

    3. Shows the applicant facing straightforward, looking neither down nor to the side, with applicant's head centered in the frame and ears exposed.

    4. Measures 5 cm x 5 cm. The applicant's head (measured from top of the hair to the bottom of the chin) must measure 2.5 cm to 3.5 cm; the applicant's eye level must be 2.8 cm to 3.5 cm from the bottom of the photo.
  • For males 16-45 years old: DS-157 application.

Approved visas are available for pickup at the consulate the following working day after the interview.

During the pickup process we will accept payment of the appropriate visa fee for each approved visa.

If you wish to submit substitutions after the appointment has been scheduled, they will be considered as a request for a different appointment and scheduled for a different date.

Refused applicants, in most cases, will have their passports returned immediately at the end of the interview. It is possible, however, that some applicants will be refused subsequently to the interview if it is shown, as a result of their background check, that they were dishonest in the interview. These passports will be returned to the company's point of contact.
