Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative Deadline Approaches
The Department of State recommends that travelers apply now for travel documents that will be required at all land or sea border entry points as of June 1, 2009.  Please visit: http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2008/dec/113151.htm and WHTI Notification for more information.

Starting March 17, 2009, the rate of exchange for consular fees will be raised to $17.00 Pesos per Dollar.

American Citizen Services is a unit of the Consulate General. One chief of section, one American consular officer, one consular agent and seven national employees assist Americans in Sinaloa and most of Sonora in a number of ways. Follow the links in the sidebar to obtain more information about the various services and information provided to American citizens by the Consulate General.

There is a Consular Agency in Mazatlan which can assist Americans in emergencies and with some types of routine services, including accepting applications for passports and registering the birth of an American Citizen born outside the United States. Immigration Office
